What causes it?

The change a person goes through from an infant to an adult, what happens to the childhood innocence? Why does a person give up their dreams as an adult?, and why do many people go against what they know is the right thing to do? While we know no person is born evil, why do they do evil actions? The human nature is a perculiar thing, we can't tell whether the things a person does is due to the corruption of other people, or just the human nature itself.. What do people think about these questions?, and can we answer them?

  1. These are great questions, with many possible answers depending on which school of though one adheres to. I'll attempt to comment/respond to the first question, about childhood innocence. In my opinion, childhood innocence seems to be associated with something akin to a 'clean slate,' to evoke John Locke, yet it is a transitional stage and no one would want to remain in. Human beings have free will and are curious about the world. Their experiences shape them into individuals who are able to make choices, which are often informed by their experiences.
